Free Money For All: The Case for Universal Basic Income

Nov-3rd 2:00 pm

Imagine if every month the government deposited money into your account, with no strings attached. This policy, known as Universal Basic Income (UBI), is being explored by politicians, economists, and technologists as a potential solution to economic inequality. In this session, economic reporter Annie Lowrey (author of NYT Book Review Editors’ Choice Give People Money) will sit down with two leading figures in the growing UBI movement--presidential candidate Andrew Yang and Stockton, CA Mayor Michael Tubbs--to discuss UBI’s revolutionary potential and its possible pitfalls.
